8th INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY (21.06.2022) 8th International Yoga Day was celebrated in the institute in which about 225 trainees and 42 staff members participated. Arrangements were also made for the trainees to watch the live screening of Yoga event from Mysore where Hon’ble Prime Minister celebrated the Yoga Day. OVERSEAS PLACEMENT DRIVE (12th June 2022) A placement drive was organised by the Placement Cell of the institute for selecting candidates to be placed in New Zealand. An interview and a skills test was held for the same in the Welder trade. WORLD ENVIRONMENTAL DAY (7th June 2022) A tree plantation drive was held in the institute in which a number of trees were planted in the institute campus. A painting competition was also held on the occasion, in which many trainees from different trades participated and showcased their creativity on the related topic. LECTURE ON SKILL DEVELOPMENT (12th September 2019) A lecture on Skill Development was delivered by S. Kulwinder Singh, Instructor (Instrument Mechanic) to the trainees of this institute. In the lecture, the trainees were motivated on Skill Development. The trainees found the lecture very interesting and inspiring. It was organized by S. Bant Singh, Incharge and Sh. Rajinder Kumar, Nodal Officer, Skill Development Committee, GITI. Sec-28 C, Chandigarh. ENERGY CONSERVATION PROGRAMME (7th February 2019) A workshop/painting competition/seminar was held at this institute by Electrical Department UT, Chandigarh in which about 70 trainees participated in the event. They were informed the benefits of Non-conventional energy sources as tapping electricity from conventional energy sources causes a lot of pollution & health hazards. SEMINAR ON SIDE EFFECTS OF JUNK FOOD (7th January 2019) This seminar was conducted by Dr. Gaurav from Punjab University in which about 80 trainees participated where they were briefed about the side effects of junk food and were sensitised to avoid them. AIDS AWARENESS PROGRAMME (20th December 2018) AIDS Awareness/prevention was held at this institute by Dr. Gaurav, Punjab University, Chandigarh in which about 120 trainees participated. They were briefed about dangerous hazards of AIDS and methods of its prevention. EYE TESTING CAMP (7th December 2018) Eye testing camp was held by Eye Department of GMCH, Sector 32, Chandigarh. In this camp about 500 trainees and staff members were examined. GMCH promised to provide free treatment to all trainees with severe infections/diseases. VIGILANCE WEEK (3rd November 2018) Vigilance week was celebrated at this institute by the official of PNB sector-28 Chandigarh in which about 40 staff member participated .All members took pledge to eradicate corruption from the society. EKTA DIWAS (31st October 2018) Ekta Diwas was celebrated by all the trainees and Staff of the institute. A pledge issued by Govt. of India for his special day was administered to all trainees and staff. ELECTORAL LITERACY CLUB (25th October 2018) Electoral Literacy Club of this institute organized a Quiz/painting competition. In this competition about 53 trainees participated. Best trainees were honoured for giving valuable message of voting to choose a responsible Government. TEACHER’S DAY CELEBRATION (5th September 2018) A seminar was organised by AutoCop Industry at this institute in which about 78 trainees and staff members participated. Experts briefed about the moral values of ideal teacher and duties/responsibilities of trainers /teachers. Instructors were honoured by the officials of AutoCop Industry. CAMPUS TO CORPORATE TRAINING (September 2018 – December 2018) Campus to Corporate training by Maruti-Suzuki India Ltd was organized at the institute. About 350 trainees from engineering trades were involved. Each session held for 22 working days. The trainees were trained about Industrial Safety, Communication Skills, Mock Interviews and Personality Development Programme. CAMPUS TO CORPORATE TRAINING (September 2018 – December 2018) Campus to Corporate training by Maruti-Suzuki India Ltd was organized at the institute. About 350 trainees from engineering trades were involved. Each session held for 22 working days. The trainees were trained about Industrial Safety, Communication Skills, Mock Interviews and Personality Development Programme.
